Philadelphia Filmathon "Son of a Beach" Trailer
Problems viewing videos?
These past several weeks have been quite stressful for me. Between two beautiful wedding ceremonies (Congratulations Geoff, Amber, Sis and Rick!), my day job (10 hours a day is a common occurrence), looking for a new place to live (Finally got one!) and the news of attending the Philadelphia Filmathon, I've been worn down to a bloody nub. Because of all of this, I greatly appreciate your patience. Now on to the question at hand...
How do you do a trailer for an inordinately short film?
Do another short film promoting the first one.
When it was suggested that I cut a trailer together for Son of a Beach, I didn't know what to do. Since the film itself is so short, I couldn't use footage to cut a trailer. Instead, I decided to create something new.
The fine people at Project Twenty1 and the Philadelphia Filmathon have been kind enough to post my trailer to their website and Youtube. I couldn't be more grateful.
For now, I don't make my living off of making movies and neither my family nor myself are independently wealthy. Because of this, I don't have a dump truck full of money to pour into publicizing my short with posters and banners, which is why I have to rely heavily on social media. If you're a fellow independent artist, you know what I'm talking about. If you see this trailer and read this blog, PLEASE DO ME THE FAVOR OF REPOSTING THIS VIDEO ELSEWHERE! Post it to your Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and Email it to your friends. I will be extremely thankful.
Also, I hope you don't mind me using the Jesus Starfish/Frank (Leonard Maltin) character again so soon after Gentleman of the Road. Other options were discussed but this one seemed to give the appropriate feel for what I was after. He may return again, but not for a while.
We have some neat things we will be trying to do for the upcoming Halloween Month of October, so keep checking back and remember (Unless otherwise stated) WE POST EVERY MONDAY!
