The Gov't Tit characters (Johnny Wayne Skylar Jr. & Tom-T Mackenroy) were born out of an idea to do an improv show to stretch our creative wings when we weren't making movies. They were originally meant to be characters for live performances and a song was written in summer 2007 "Lovin' You is a Twelve Step Program" but we got busy with other things and the characters were put on hold. In August of this year CBP participated in the 48 Hour Film Project Denver, and the characters were revived since they were the perfect fit for the genre we drew (Buddy film), The Nathan Brown character was added to the concept since all of the 48 Hour Films needed to include a character named Nathan Brown who is a backpacker. All three characters have evolved since then and now have ever growing back stories which we hope to get to in future shorts. They are partly inspired by stories we've heard and some of our friends and family. As of now we would like to continue making shorts with these characters as well making live appearances.
